PlexGuide has four different versions of PlexGuide to Suite You! Let's explore each version of PlexGuide!
- Most Commonly Used
- Utilize Google GSuite for truly unlimited space
The GDrive Edition will display as such. You'll notice the type of edition that is selected and that (1) has the transport data menu; which is basically for your rclone and gdrive mounts! The GDrive Edition will most likely suit your needs due to lower costs (if you store tons of data). Remember, GSuite has a 14 day trail, so this will give you enough time to expore this option!
- For Rare or Light Plex Usage
- DOES NOT Utilize Google GSuite. Just the Drive the Data is On!
The Solo Edition will display as such. You will notice the type of edition that is selected and that (1) has a no mounts notice. The Solo HD Edition has no mounts due to well... being a Solo HD Edition. Basically, when you download data, all of your data will transport to and stay on the hard drive itself. The Solo HD Edition is great for those who run a light VPS or on their home computer and want to maintain a small library.
For those who attempt to select it anyways, we put a word of caution in there.
- For Medium Plex Usage
- DOES NOT Utilize Google GSuite. Just the Drive the Data is On!
The Multi HD Edition will display as such. You will notice the type of edition that is selected and that (1) has a multi merger interface menu. What makes this edition different than the other three is that mergers all of your drives. When your data starts to fill up on one drive, it will start filling up on another. The endstate for you is to have all of your harddrives pooled together. Beware in that you must know how to format and have linux recognize your harddrive. PG is unable to due this for you due to layers of complexity that are associated. Once your drives are set, you are good to go to pool them all together.
- For Medium Plex Usage
- Utilize Google GSuite for truly unlimited space
The GCE Feeder Edition is the same exact thing as the GDrive Edition, except that it utilizes a Google Virtual Machine Instance. If you payed attention, you may have noticed that Google gives offers you a $300 credit on their Google Cloud Console. Long story short, this edition deploy on their instance and sets everything up for you; including mounting the NVME drive that is associated with the instance. There are two ways of going about this; the difficult way and the easy way.
Hopefully, this was enough information on to get a basic understanding of what you are about to select or will select. Please watch the YouTube Video or visit the forums @ https://plexguide.com/forums
