How my work benefits you π―
If you've ever searched for a topic on Go, Docker, Raspberry Pi, or Kubernetes, then the chances are that you've already benefitted from my work. You might have also seen one of my blog posts on Twitter, Reddit, Hacker News or in a newsletter.
I volunteer my time to help the community understand how to use and benefit from CNCF projects and Cloud Native technology.
OpenFaaS is the largest project with over 30k GitHub Stars, more than 350 contributors, and hundreds of blog posts and conference talks recorded from around the world. This project takes up the majority of my time and focus, but unfortunately, many end-users do not contribute any resources to its upkeep or continued development.
Keep these projects independent, free, and actively developed
Are you already a user? Perhaps you just appreciate developer tools that make your job easier. Including: k3sup, arkade, openfaas, inlets and derek.
These projects do not receive external funding, but are free and open source. I don't want to have to shut any more of them down, but need to be honest with you. They cost time and money to maintain and develop. This is where you can help.

Open Source is not sustainable without external funding, and I don't expect GitHub Sponsors to ever pay the bills. So since 2019, I've been building a company to offer commercial features and support for OpenFaaS - with the goal of employing full time contributors.
The more funds we can raise through GitHub Sponsors, then the more I can focus on what you know me for: open source software, technical tutorials, building community, and creating more value for you.
I believe open-source should stay open and that we need to sustain both people and projects. If you do too, then Sponsor today and join my journey π
I need your help to secure the future of OpenFaaS, inlets, k3sup and arkade. These projects do not receive external funding from the companies that rely on them in production, so it's up to all of us to keep them alive. Your sponsorship means that these projects can continue to exist for everyone to use and benefit from. The more we raise here, the more I can serve the community.
