Recent PRs and related discussion from @shafeef901, @ffurrer, @berkaydeniz, @asimonov, @kdorsel, @grafoteka, @Karsten1987, @NikolausDemmel. Anyone interested in taking this over?

Hi @mikepurvis
I still trying to install corectly ROS on my MBP with High Sierra, but still stuck in the compilation.

If somenone could help me to finish the installation I could help you with the maintainer and to update a new guide with the installation.

Interesting.
But I am moving more towards Ubuntu ecosystem as well.
Currently run all my ROS development from proper Ubuntu laptop/docker.
I think I will try ROS2 on mac though - it looks more cross platform by design, so should be easier to use on mac.

@mikepurvis, thanks for the pointer, but I can't take over unfortunately. Not using ROS much these days, and if, not really on macos.

Thank you Mike for all the work over the years!

I am pretty much in the same situation as @grafoteka. Once I am getting things up to run here on my mac, I am happy to have an eye on it as well.

I don't mind maintaining this repo. I just submitted a pull request that reflects all of my changes since I forked this a few years ago.
