Waleed Khamies - Applied ML Scientist

I am Waleed, an applied machine learning scientist at NTWIST, helping enterprises leverage machine learning to automate business processes. Concurrently, I am on a PhD track at the University of Alberta, where I explore the intersection of AI and neuroscience, focusing on how AI can uncover visuo-linguistic patterns in individuals with mental health disorders..

Previously, I worked as a research engineer intern at Mila under the supervision of Liam Paull, where my research focused on developing deep learning models that are suitable to robotics applications in noisy scenarios. I received my master at AMMI in Mathematical sciences/Machine learning, where I worked in interpretability of reinforcement learning under the supervision of George konidaris, previously I received my bachelor degree at UofK in Electrical and electronics engineering, where I worked under the supervision of Benjamin Rosman.
