Contest information

This contest was suggested by Maarten, PD2R/OV2T, on groups.io here. He writes...

Hello everyone,

Maarten PD2R/OV2T here. I'm new to this group as I didn't even know it existed until John K3TN pointed it out to me in the Eham Contesting forum. I really like using MorseRunner to keep up and improve my CW skills, and I love what you guys are doing to make this great program even greater.

This weekend, I participated in the RSGB IOTA contest, and during the first few hours, I struggled to copy the exchange. The exchange for this contest is a serial number, and Island stations also need to send their IOTA reference number. The IOTA reference numbers are a two-letter abbreviation of the continent, followed by a three-digit number. Since I was on an Island in Europe, I was sending "EU 171". The combination of a serial number and the IOTA number makes it quite a lengthy exchange. To me, the exchange is quite a challenge, and it would be great if this contest could be implemented as well. This way, I, and I'm sure many other hams, could practice this challenging exchange.

I was still using version 1.68, but I just downloaded the latest version. I'm incredibly pleased to see that so many other contests are now implemented as well.

Thanks for all the work you guys put into this program. Please keep up the good work!

73, Maarten PD2R/OV2T
