Sunsetting of dialagflow es

I am asking here because you deal intimately with dialogflow and might have some answers.

I know they are sunsetting dialogflow es, and it looks like they want to replace it with cx (I think). This new one is only free for $600 in credit.

Do you know if this is the only way forward to have a voice interactive skill on Google Assistant?
Should we all just switch to Mycroft and be done with it?
