Visualization mid-point lables

Is there a way to disable the labels on the mid-points?

I'm modeling a network with almost 200 nodes and the midpoint text makes the layout hard to read.

another option may be to reduce the label font size for all labels

Partial answer:
I tried setting wm.font_size = '3px' in the config file but it does nothing, now I have
reduced the font size in the weathermap.py
from
self.font_size = '9px'
to
self.font_size = '3px'
that has improved the layout so its now easier to read, but it would still be even better without the midpoint labels
