Hiya! @freezydorito here – I make generative art shitty twitter bots like @fakefantas or the brexit bot. I also have some useless-adjacent repos such as tailflix. To top it off I'm a co-organizer for QueerJS with a lot of passion on the design side of things.

All of this work is open source and often I will use my open source code as a way to learn something new and interesting. Sometimes this is CSS Grid, other times it's creating babel plugins or setting up puppeteer. I try to share these learnings back to the community on my twitter page as well as encouraging people to contribute and fork this stuff for their own purposes. Something that I find gratiifying is that a lot of these projects, while completely useless on their own, have helped me and others with real Serious Business Problems™ 😎

Anyway, I'm asking yall for money for a number of reasons:

• The twitter bots run on the heroku free tier as cron jobs. Having some operating money to run them would mean being able to spin them up more often and give them interactivity like making them able to respond to mentions (IMAGINE)
• I do share learnings with the community as twitter threads but that's a shitty format for posterity, I'm hoping this money will guilt me into at least turning them into dev.to blogposts, or set up my own blog
• I'm well off financially so I fully intend to put all of this money back into open source work in one way or another, be it pay for AWS, or get me 2am mcdonalds to finish off a second brexit bot when they delay the thing again and run new ads.
