Become a sponsor to Glyph
Hi! I'm Glyph. I've been an active member of the Python community for over two decades. My most significant contributions to the open source community have been founding and contributing to the Twisted project and projects in its ecosystem, but I have also independently created other, smaller projects such as horsephrase, automat, DBXS, and Fritter.
Outside of direct coding contributions, I have also done a fair amount of public speaking at Python events, and writing on my blog, about Python, open source, and other topics.
Why I'm Worth Sponsoring
In addition to maintenance of popular projects like automat, I also advocate for developer security best practices with tools like TokenRing, PINPal, and MOPUp, as well as reviews of ecosystem-wide practices like commit signing and editor plugins.
In my work towards creating a full-featured desktop application in Python, I also regularly spin out fun libraries like QuickMacHotKey and QuickMacApp to make it easy to build your own desktop-environment toys, as well as experiments for simplified ways to deal with databases, and timers.
So if you want to make Python development more secure and more fun, I think I'd be a good option to sponsor.
What Your Money Will Achieve
What these sponsorships are buying is uninterrupted chunks of my focused attention to make improvements to the Python (and Twisted) ecosystems; particularly cross-functional projects that might involve contributing to multiple different things. This may include maintaining my existing open source projects or starting new ones. You can read more about my goals for sponsorship on my blog.
What Your Money Will <em>Not</em> Achieve
This is not a sponsorship for me to work on Twisted exclusively. If you want to contribute directly to that project, please see the Donate buttons on the Twisted website. I may spend quite a bit of time on Twisted maintenance, particularly initially, but this sponsorship is to sponsor me and provide feedback on where my attention may be directed, not one specific project.
