The vast majority of UK listed securities are priced in GBX (British Pence Sterling), not GBP (Pound Sterling). Hence, from the perspective of I image all UK residents, when adding such securities, it would make far greater sense if ‘GBX’ was pre-selected by PP, as the default currency.

As things stand, on such occasions ‘GBP’ is pre-selected by PP, which then more often than not needs to be changed to GBX by the user. I realise this potentially could be overcome by using GBX as the currency for the cash account, but this is far from ideal. Think of it, PP doesn’t impose ‘cents’ as a currency for all those using Euros or US dollars!!

Hello 😀
What can I do?
You can select and configure the currency yourself. What is the problem here?

Thanks for getting back to me @Nirus2000. PP is brilliant and I really appreciate the effort the development team put in.

I'm very aware that its possible to select and configure a currency myself. Indeed, given what I've outlined above, I'm very frequently changing from 'GBP' to 'GBX' This isn't necessarily a big deal, but on occasions I've been caught out as I haven't made this change which to say the least can be frustrating. If GBX (British Pence Sterling) was adopted as the default currency for UK listed securities for UK listed securities I wouldn't have those frustrations 😀!!
