for example - in the case that a model predicts a segmentation for a 3d medical image, and we want to visualize it

Hi,
You can open Region Of Interest (ROI) images with vv. The format has to be Dicom RTStruct or mhd/nii, ...
To open it, you can open an image, and then click on Tools/Open ROI
