The alignment rule (and previous rules that prepare fastq files) includes a bulk subdirectory within the results path (formally the output of the rule). This makes sense in the star rule because it is used exclusively for bulk-RNA-seq alignments (i.e. the starsolo rule would have a single-cell subdirectory). However the telescope rule needs a wildcard or something in the rule's output to distinguish between the two types of data
