The Environment Agency, Friends of the Earth, and University of Leeds are developing an Index of Multiple Environmental Deprivation, that will help to expose environmental inequality across the UK.
So far, they’ve produced a proof of concept that covers LSOAs in England only, and based on six indicators in three environmental "domains" – pollution (air pollution, noise pollution), nature (tree cover, access to greenspace), and climate (flood risk, heat exploure risk).
They’ve described this as "for demonstration purposes" and "not yet fit for use".
Worth talking to FoE about, or just keeping an eye on?
