Hello,

Sorry I didn't report this earlier, but no version of this ROM was ever able to connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network.

I have both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bandwidths, and it connects to neither. The only workaround is to make the network visible. I also tested on different routers.

Keep up the good work. Thanks

Sorry for the late reply, GitHub never notified me about this issue.

Yeah, I'm already aware of the hidden SSIDs problem (you're not the first person who reported it).

Currently, I have paused the development of LineageOS 15.1 to focus on Android 10. I will try to fix it in future versions.

@Barrytoo I haven't had a chance to test this feature on LineageOS 17.1. Could you try to see if it still doesn't work?

You beat me to it, @R0rt1z2! I was about to post an update.

So, the issue is different now in LineageOS 17.1 (fantastic work, BTW). I can actually connect to a hidden network, but only manually, meaning that there's no automatic connection to such networks and every time I need to connect to a hidden network that is already saved, I have to connect manually, which is not the case with visible networks.

There's another issue with 5GHz networks. They are visible now, which wasn't the case in LineageOS 15.1 earlier. However, attempts to connect to said networks will always fail. The attempted networks will be saved, though,

If you need additional details, or if you want me to break these issues down into new and separate posts, do not hesitate to let me know.

Keep it up, boss 👍

Thanks for the report,

Can you please take logs while trying connect to 5GHz networks or a hidden network?

Thanks.

Can you please test this with the latest build @Barrytoo?

I already did as soon as I saw a new build. The "Wi-Fi not connecting to certain routers" fix seems to be unrelated to the hidden networks issue, as it still remains.

I've tried Cisco, Netgear and TP-Link routers, and all have the same problem. To narrow it down for you, I don't think it's a router issue, it's probably a network configuration.

On a different note, would it be more effective for you to migrate to Android 13 for instance? I imagine it'd give you less headache.

Haha, if it was that easy....!

Either way, thanks for reporting back.

I'll recheck your logs.

I can confirm, wifi kernal is jacked rendering what could be used as a remote or alex smart home device useless...I have tried all settings. Has anyone found a setting that works? One minute its connected to either 2.4 and 5 then it drops and cant see any networks forcing a reboot.
