More information on donors? #2501
Comments
Hi. |
Merci, Olivier!
I see that "lookahead view" on my "Receiving" page and it shows the amount
I'm getting per week. This view seems to divide up the amount I've received
total into weeks (even though I don't get paid out that amount per week,
which is fine), including one-time donations. I ended up hearing from a few
of my donors just yesterday, a couple who told me they gave me one-time
donations, the amount of which seems to factor into that "per week" amount
shown in the chart. So, I still can't seem to view which of the donations
were set up as a one-time donation, monthly, quarterly, and so on.
And there's no information (that I can find) for me to be able to view who
is donating to me—those who wish to be seen publicly or privately, just
between me and them—so that I can thank them. I understand that maybe this
is to protect their privacy by not putting their name and email address
"out there," but if they've chosen "public" or "private," then it seems
like I should be able to view them, as the descriptions for both of those
suggest.
Thank you for your patience in helping me to navigate Liberapay. You all
are doing a great job and any lacking is likely due to my misunderstanding,
as a "non-techie" person, as mentioned ;)
Merci beaucoup et bonne journée!
Virginia

Hi.
For your first remark/question, there is this proposal that I made to make
the receiver able to have a "lookahead view" of the income : #1858

Hello!
I've been using liberapay for a short period of time and am a "non-techie" user. It's a great service in many ways and I'm very grateful! And also, I currently don't see any way through the following two issues I've encountered. So, maybe there is a way and you can inform me or perhaps this post serves to inspire helpful change for people who also desire these abilities from liberapay:
I understand how the whole system works in order to reduce processing fees where people pay a certain amount upfront for a chosen period of time. That's great. On the receiving end of things, I would love for there to be a way for me to know that someone is paying $X for X period of time so that I know what to expect each month. As of right now, I just hold my breath to see if another donation will come in the next month. These donations are important to me for my forthcoming endeavor, so being able to expect a certain amount for a certain period of time by knowing that someone has donated that amount would be both practical and beneficial.
The donations I'm receiving are from close family and friends who want to support a big step I'm soon taking in life. Is there any way that if they've chosen to donate either as "public" or "private" that their name and/or email address could be visible to me, the receiver? It's very important to me to be able to express my gratitude for their generosity, but right now, the people who are donating as either "public" or "private" are showing up with no information or, at the most, as merely default numbers. They're also "non-techie" folks, so a simple field for them to input their name and/or email address for only me to see (or for the public to see if they choose that option) would be so helpful. I'm currently unable to thank anyone because of this inability... :(
Thank you for taking my input into consideration and I'd love to hear anything back in response!
