Right now, the way Zapier works, it's no possible to check if a keygen user exists, create one if not, and continue with the workflow. (Their path system only allows branching, but not merging branches back together.)
One way around this would be to not have the "Create user" action fail if the user already exists,
or to add another action "Find or create user" which does just that.

I’m not familiar with Zapier Paths, but you’re saying that you can’t perform Find User -> Create User if Find User failed -> continue? And if I understand correctly, the real issue is that you’d need to maintain 2 separate branches and keep them in sync, instead of being able to merge them? This sounds like a feature request for Paths.
But you’re right — having a Find or Create User action may be useful here.
