Warning

Please notice that the NOVAthesis template uses biber (and not bibtex) as the backend bibliography processor.

• If you use latexmk in the terminal, it will just work.
• If you compile your LaTeX source within a Text Editor (e.g., TexStudio, TextMaker, etc) you must open the Editor Preferences and change something somewhere (depends on the Editor) to use biber instead of bibtex. Even better if you can make it work with latexmk. Follow the recommendations for specific Text Editors.
