I just did a strawman code calculation for the first public IRAF version (2.8) with David A. Wheeler's 'SLOCCount'. Since sloccount does not recognize SPP code, I converted these files (.x and .gx) to Fortran first. This is the result:
Estimated Average Number of Developers (Effort/Schedule) = 45.04
Total Estimated Cost to Develop = $ 22,931,936 (average salary = $56,286/year, overhead = 2.40)

Hi,
I just did a strawman code calculation for the first public IRAF version (2.8) with David A. Wheeler's 'SLOCCount'. Since sloccount does not recognize SPP code, I converted these files (
.x
and.gx
) to Fortran first. This is the result:Totals grouped by language (dominant language first):
(Basic COCOMO model, Person-Months = 2.4 * (KSLOC^1.05))
(Basic COCOMO model, Months = 2.5 * (person-months^0.38))
(average salary = $56,286/year, overhead = 2.40)
