Thanks Anika. The record has to have been created for that to be the case though, right? What I was looking for was for a similar kind of collaboration but while it is still in Draft status, before the first version is made public. |

I see now, thank you for the clarification! Indeed, right now we are in progress of working on adding the Share button to the upload creation form, so that it is possible to share the record in the draft state. It will come soon 🚀 |

I'm closing the discussion since it's in progress and on the roadmap - #198 @anikachurilova Perhaps you can post a couple of screenshots on the mentioned issue of how you can share a draft record with what's being developed. |

Currently (unless I have overlooked something) records have to be prepared by a single user, which can be a bottleneck for larger/more complex records.
It would be useful if it were possible for multiple authors to collaborate on preparing a draft record before submission.
I imagine the simplest way to achieve this would be to add a check as to whether a user with an associated ORCID has that ORCID listed as an author on the draft, and if so grant access. The original creator of the draft could then share the link to the draft with collaborators via email/instant messaging.
(An invite/link sharing system similar to published records might be easier for some, but would also introduce more UI complexity.)
