Outdated integrations question

Hello,

we are thinking of moving monitoring agents to Grafana Agent and I see that the project is quite busy however one thing that does not inspire confidence is how outdated integrated exporters are.

I checked only couple but for example mysql exporter is over 2 years old. With the current exporter we're not able to monitor certain metrics in MySQL8 which was released in 2019.

I guess my question is, what is the long term plan how the integrations are going to be kept up-to-date with upstream exporter projects ? Is my example an exception or the norm ?
