Test suite without full sources (and without full development environment)

I run STklos on wireless routers, and may be interested in cross-compiling to other devices too.
One thing that would be cool for cross-compiled STklos is a test suite detached from the sources, and which would not require the development tools like gcc and autotools.
This is probably easy to do (instead of using ../src and ../lib, use the installed STklos)

Except that test-srfi.stk uses ../srfis.stk, which is not usually installed.
