How do I force a content file to be output to a specific path?

Operating System: Windows
DocFX Version Used: 2.56.6.0

How do I change the output path of content files? My file is articles_api/index.md and I expected it to be built and output to _site/api/index.html but it is keeping the articles_api folder and putting the content in _site/api/articles_api/index.html

How do I force it to not use the source folder are the destination folder?
