First Issue.

Using the latest beta version on Windows 11 I have found a unique issue that I have never encountered before with AWIPS.

  • Trying to load MRMS Rotation tracks, it appears to load the data just fine but fails to render/display the data.
  • So looking at the change colormap/imaging option, I discovered that its greyed out and says that MRMS_0500 is not color mapped.
  • I get the same result with all of the products under MRMS/Velocity product menu.

Second Issue.

In Version 20 on Windows I also do not see the Legacy Satellite sub menu any longer and ASCAT product that was contained within it. I was wondering if that is something that is deprecated and will no longer be supported or if I have an issue with this version.

Also for troubleshooting purposes, I have uninstalled and removed any lingering folders/files after removal and then reinstalled AWIPS as a fresh copy and have the same thing occurring as far as MRMS is concerned.

Thanks to everyone involved with the continued development of AWIPS. :)

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Some of the more high resolution MRMS products (like Rotation Tracks and Az Shear) have issues loading on a CONUS scale (specifically on Windows OS). As a work around you can change your view to be regional or WFO scale (option in the top left) and load the product on a smaller scale.

For the Legacy Satellite submenu, this is something that is currently disabled in v20. In future builds we should be adding that back in.
