The classic sky wobbles if the player is moving and if there are many brushes forming it, e1m5 at the Q shadow teleporter is a good example.

Not sure if I'm looking at the same sort of effect that you are, but I do see wobbly sky when moving and looking up from the "upper deck" in the DM3 megahealth atrium.

Two interesting things:

  • If I'm moving around on the ground and looking up at the same sky, I don't see the wobble.
  • The original GLQuake behaves this same way. But DarkPlaces and Fitz Mark V do not. So maybe this is an original Quake problem that has been fixed in other Quake engines.

The Fitzquake readme mentions "fixed sky animation on brush models", which could be related.

However from this discussion the change in sky behavior might be a more fundamental rewrite than just a bugfix: http://forums.inside3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4930&p=45487&hilit=sky#p45487

Maybe related to Sky_DrawSkyLayers and Sky_DrawFace in the Fitz code, but only glanced at that so far.
