Atmel LWM source code in this repository shows the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) open source license. This code should also be labeled as a branch of the original. For example:
"This software is originally licensed under an Apache open source license from Atmel Corporation. The Pinoccio project (http://pinocc.io) made this software compatible with the Arduino environment, including minor changes to the source code headers and minor reorganization of the code files."
The above is just my recommendation.

On one hand, I'm trying to minimize the changes to the LWM files and use them as-is whenever possible (and where I do needed to make changes, I'm planning to try and contribute those changes back upstream).
On the other hand, we'll probably continue to make small changes, so adding a comment to the top of every file makes sense. I can just add this to the update script so it should not complicate future updates. I'll look at this with the next upstream update.
