There are models in SAM (and PVlib) for modeling the snow cover of PV panels, if you provide weather data that includes precipitation. Most TMY3 files and a lot of our AMY files didn't have precipitation data included, but Carlo has developed a new way of generating AMY files that includes that data. We should check if we're correctly modeling snow cover of PV.
