From my analysis of the code, it should work as-is without any updated versions, though if the 1.16 version doesn't work on 1.17 or 1.18 then I'll remove those. |

Thanks for this very useful list, especially thanks to that awesome people who develop CIT Resewn, as our server largely uses it for the custom item models, and I want to play without optifine... Hope one time the incompatibilities will be gone and finally we can get rid of OptiFine on Fabric |

Yea. But remember, phosphor and starlight do the same thing in a different way, phosphor does a smaller amount of optimizations but starlight completely rewrites the engine making it less like vanillas in some cases but way better performing. |

Actually, reading the EULA just now, capes are only mentioned in the Commercial Usage Guidelines under "Servers and Hosting"
So, you can mod capes in, you just can't sell them for actual real-world money/currency in a server only obtainable through real-world currency transactions, you can't charge money for the mod(s); and obviously developing a "mod" to get capes that show up on your account profile, on your player character, whether the capes are like the official Minecraft ones or original designs, and using such a "mod" is hacking and breaks the EULA. Making a mod that adds cosmetic capes to players in individual worlds that do not display on their Mojang account profiles, and using such mods is NOT against the EULA guidelines. Just probably don't make or use cape mods that attempt to copy official cape designs made by Mojang. |

Although I don't think it's explicitly supported, ResolutionControl+ works for me on Fabric and Quilt 1.19.2 (and really increases FPS). |

Same as for resource packs, as the built-in resource pack is what maps need OptiFine for. Most of the time, the combination of ETF, EMF, Continuity, Colormatic and CIT Resewn should do the trick. |

Honestly, fog and biome colors tend to be the least important feature of a resource pack. They do help set the ambience, but don't impact it too much when missing. Custom entity models and such are much more impactful. So you could probably do without if you don't find anything. |

for resolution+ If you go into resolution from this list onto forge and then go press resolution+ from resolution you can go to the forge page for resolution+ and it have versions 1.17 or 1.18+ |

Interesting, but only moderately relevant here. This list mostly focuses on Fabric, as that's where OptiFine has the most issues (OptiFabric isn't even official). But granted, it does help for those who run into OptiFine compatibility issues on Forge. |

I think OptiFine does already break things for those old versions occasionally, but it's not too bad, so no one would implement/backport some alternatives. Especially since ASM of regular mods would also clash quite often back then, I kinda remember it was hard to have a working setup with more than 3 coremods, so OptiFine's clashing was nothing unusual. |

Thanks again for this list :) I wanted to mention that ResolutionControl+ actually has additional versions that are only listed on the Curseforge page, which isn't linked here. The Modrinth page is missing a variety of versions, not limited to but including 1.19-1.19.3. If you link the page and mention that I'm sure you'll save another lost soul! |

Vraiment. Genre j'aime bien parler en français d'temps en temps, mais c'pas très clément d'faire ça sur Internet. On fait un effort, nous-là, pour jaser dans une langue facile à apprendre et très répandue. J'ai appris l'anglais juste pour toi puis tu m'parles en chinois. I'm a bit late to the party but I am disappointed by some replies here. The best course of action when you're not sure of your own skills in a foreign language like English could be to post both versions of the message. And I can understand reluctance for someone to post something translated by a machine as you might not be sure of what nuance it will retain, thus the original message in the language of the person is very valuable. The only valid criticism that should have been made here is the way the reply to the comment chain was made through an email and GitHub lost track of it. Anyway, from now on I expect from everyone to be more respectful, if you don't speak a language and want to reply to a comment that was made in such language, just reply in English then, if you managed to translate it using a machine the reverse will work too, just a shame nuance will be lost but at least the chance for it to get through to other people will be available. |

@LambdAurora OK, fair enough. I just kinda figured that anyone can be expected to learn English (an easy assumption as a non-native speaker myself), but on second thought, that probably is a bit much to ask in a place that's supposed to be accessible to pretty much everyone.
