What is the Apply Config

I set WIREGUARD_PEERS in .env to 50 and started the server.
When I read the conf file in wirehole/config/peer1 into my smartphone using scp and connected, I was able to connect without any problems.
However, when I accessed the UI and pressed the Apply config button, the initial 50 clients I had configured were disconnected.
What may be the cause.
Also, if I press the Apply config button by mistake, is there a way to enable 50 clients again?
