If a pilot jumps the gun by more than the allowed maximum the effective penalty is to score them for minimum distance. Does this happen after all other scoring steps as a penalty? If not then what are the implications and how would this reset to minimum distance effect other aspects of scoring? This leads to other questions:
If this pilot made goal then are the point allocation weights changed?
If this pilot had the best time then is the time validity changed?
If this pilot had the best distance when nobody makes goal then is the time validity changed?
Does shortening this pilot's distance change the distance validity?
Does shortening this pilot's distance change their effective landout slot and so change the distance difficulty calculations for the task?
