Hi

I am already using this amazing app for years. Very satisfied how it works and how issues get solved.
My phone, a Google Pixel 7, I own already two years. Only one time had an issue.
My car a BMW 418D with ID4.

Since two weeks ago I got the Android 15 update for my phone. As curious as I am I installed the update...
But after the AAIdrive app didn't work anymore. In the AAIdrive app I can see the USB and Bluetooth connection is made but that's it. Apps are not showing up in the car. Connected drive subscription is still valid until next year.

When I open the Connected Drive menu in my car and then select Connection Assistant, I get the following notification: Connect 'BMW Apps ready'-device through USB -> Not supported.

I already did a lot of actions to try to make it work again but no success:

  • Reinstalled the AAIdrive and MyBMW app.
  • Removed storage and cache of those apps.
  • Removed the bluetooth connection in the car to my phone and reconnected.
  • Changed some (USB) settings in the developer menu of Android.
  • Tried an older version of MyBMW app.
  • Tried an old version of the BMW connected app but when I open this app I get an error message: Something went wrong. Please try again..
  • All permissions are set for the apps and backgroud battery usage allowed.

I guess it's related to the Android 15 update. Any ideas what I can still try (without rollback to Android 14)?

Thank you for the compliments!
I don't see anything in the Android 15 Changes news about any USB changes, no hint that they took it away or anything.
BMW Connected will show that Something Went Wrong but that doesn't affect it's USB connection.

The "Device Not Supported" message makes me wonder how the USB device looks to the host. Are you able to plug the phone into a computer and check the USB Vendor and Product codes? The vendor code should be 0x18D1 and the product code should be 0x2D00 or 0x2D01.
AAIdrive will show what mode the USB port is running in, either Charging or File Transfer or Accessory mode. From what I remember, the phone should be in File Transfer and then the car will notice and trigger the connection to convert to Accessory mode. What modes do you see this label showing?

I connected my phone to a computer. Below you can find the vendor and product code:

So the product code is different then you mention.

When connected to the car it is in File Transfer mode. I put this also as default in the "Developer settings" of the phone.
I did try to change it to PTP. Then the car says something about accessory mode. When I press on Ok it goes back to File Transfer mode and I get the USB - not supported message again.

Forgot to check whick mode AAIdrive is showing. Will look at that tomorrow and post here.
