I figured out how to add a second VFO/Radio through the module manager and through setting up the stream, but if I'm understanding correctly, that radio can only point to a frequency within the same 2.4MHz scan range as the other virtual radio working with the same source device.
I have two RTL-SDR Blog v4 dongles, and would like to be able to point one VFO at one dongle, and another VFO at a different dongle, within a different 2.4MHz range. Is this possible?
What I've tried: First I set the serial number of one of my two dongles to a distinct value, different from the other dongle, using rtl_eeprom. Then within sdrpp, in module_manager I located the rtl_sdr_source module and attempted to add another called Source 2. When I clicked "plus" I got an error message saying it was unable to add another instance of the RTL-SDR source. (These are pretty much the same steps one would take for adding a second radio/vfo, so I hoped they would work).
I also looked in config.json, and I see that "source": "RTL-SDR" is how the source is configured, which doesn't seem to be practical for scaling additional sources (I would have hoped for an array of objects, for example).
Is this capability simply not within the design of SDR++, or have I missed how to do it?
